John and Patricia's sons, Mark and Steven Constable.
The Constable Family purchased Marsh Creek Tree Farm back in 2005. This 226 acre farm, located in the heart of Chester County, PA was originally a field crop farm and then partially converted to a tree farm before the Constables bought it. Immediately after purchasing the plot, both John and Patricia Constable knew they wanted to preserve the land for future generations, so they put the land in Natural Lands Trust to ensure this beautiful piece of Chester County landscape would be conserved forever.
In the first few years, the entire Constable family was involved in the cultivation of the property -- including their young boys, Mark and Steven who grew up running through the fields, driving tractors, and shearing the trees. But their hard work paid off and by 2008, over 30,000 trees were planted including a few fields of deciduous landscaping trees.
Fast forward to 2019, cut-your-own Christmas tree season took off across the entire industry and the Constables encountered a problem they never thought they would have: the supply could not keep up with demand! Despite planting trees every year, more and more people were looking to buy real, live Christmas trees making it challenging to keep up!
The farm continues to undergo maintenance and revitalization of tree fields, but it takes approximately seven years to grow a full sized Christmas tree, so we are patiently waiting on Mother Nature!
On behalf of the entire Constable Family, we thank you for supporting our family run, small business!
